You Might Be....

If....
.....you're dancing around your room like a crazy hippie to the sounds of your new Bob Marley Pandora       station,
.....you're in love with your new spray tan
.....you wore your turquoise butterfly shirt to work today to get this party started early
.....you're yelling back and forth to your roommate, "WE'RE GOING TO JAMAICA!!!" and jumping up and down
.....you're hunting down your passport to use for the very first time
.....you're filling your suitcase with every hippie-like piece of clothing you own, even if you'll just be gone for 5 days
....you've planned on waterfalls, bamboo rafts, and a trip to the Rastafari village,
then you probably feel a lot like me.
My flight leaves in 8 hours.
Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!
I'm going to Jamaica!!!!!!!

Costume Week

My friend Katie came up with an idea to dress up every day for a week (I'm guessing not for all day, or maybe I'm wrong). I've been an inconsistent blog reader as of late, but I did happen to catch this post. Apparently I was supposed to dress up like "Clueless" today. By 11pm. It was 12:36 am when I read the post. It's 12:51 right now. I'm sitting here in my Clueless outfit, realizing that I own clothes to make this outfit in about 4 minutes flat. Yay!

The Celebrity "Make-It" List

For a long time now, I've had in my mind a list of celebrity couples who are just going to "make it." I think of sharing it often, but I've never gotten around to it. But here you go. Feel free to hold me accountable.

* Will Smith and Jada Pinkett
* Chris Martin & Gwyneth Paltrow
* Ben Affleck & Jennifer Gardner
* Pink & Carey Hart (This is based on an episode of CRIBS where they were dating and in love. They were put on the list. Then they got married. And divorced. And re-married. I knew it all along.)
* Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale
And two couples who dashed my hopes:
* Heidi Klum & Seal. I'm still holding out hope for a reconciliation.
* Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher (they were so adorable!)
Agreed?

The Wedding Day

Saturday morning dawned bright and beautiful and later than we thought.
We got all dressed up (I bought 2 dresses for the wedding. Just in case. Bridget wore one. It worked out well.)
We ran to Target (trip #3) to get Bridget some shoes that she could wear with her busted up toe. (We found some next door at Famous Footwear and they were amazing.), and then to the temple.
Outside, there were a lot of John's friends who didn't know each other. However, over the years, I had met everyone. So we did a lot of talking and introducing while we waited for them.
Me being an assistant photographer for a couple
we didn't know right before John & Marisel came out

John was so funny coming out of the temple, like he was soo cool. He's so funny.
Then everyone took pictures and we headed out.
Cade (a mission companion), Quinn (a roommate), me, & Bridget
Quinn, Bridget, and I (and her friend Greg) met for an amazing lunch at Stingray Sushi where I introduced them to Mochi ice cream for the first time (which is freaking incredible).

Then, we went home to freshen up and headed out to the ring ceremony/dinner/reception. The reception area was absolutely beautiful. They did such a good job decorating and with everything. I loved the way they had everything planned out- a ring ceremony, a catered dinner for friends and family that lasted about an hour, then they quickly cleared everything so that everyone who came for just the reception could enjoy the dessert bar. It was perfect.

It was also really weird to see John MARRIED. It hit me kind of hard. So after dinner & a little bit of dancing, Bridget and I decided to leave 'cause, well, I needed to.
It was, however, a beautiful reception and I am so so happy for those two!
MARRIED?!

Friday- Girl's Day!

Friday was girls' day. Also known as: Nail Day, Tan Day, LGO day, Mall day, cram-as-much-as-you-can -into-one-day day.
I have a new app called Gym-Pact. You tell them you are going to work out for 4 days that week (or how ever many you can). You pledge to give them $5 (or more) for every day you don't go. If you do go, you get a share of all the money from all the people who didn't go. Last week I made $2.16. This week I lost $10. Bridget gave me $3 to help out. Because Bridget is very distracting. And play time is very important.
So Friday we slept in a little and then went by the pool to lay out. We laid out for an hour. I can't quite figure out how I didn't burn, but it felt amazing. It was probably 75 degrees, but we were definitely not the only ones by the pool, and it was so fun. Even if I did notice just how incredibly white I was. I called and scheduled a spray tan while we were there.
Next on the list? Lunch! I made these Turkey Burgers for us, which were delicious. (I may have left out a Target trip or two. There were 3. We did go there earlier to get some zucchini and hand soap.)
Then we went to get our nails done. We wanted to go somewhere cheap and close, so we settled on this place: 7 Day Spa & Nails. It was the crazy busiest nail place ever! Seriously, they had like 20 people crammed in 200 square feet (ok, maybe an exaggeration, but seriously). It was packed and cheap, but they had great massage chairs, and they did my manicure and pedicure at the same time in a great neutral Essie Green that goes with everything! So pleased. Bridget, of course, got silver sparkles. Because Bridget is sparkly. :-)
Next up! Dinner with Bridget's sister at LGO. Le Grande orange, where she used to work. Where we had this amazing caprese salad, I had an orange fennel salad, and we all shared a roasted corn pizza. So yummy.

Then, we ran to Scottsdale to get spray tanned. While I answered some gynecological questions for the woman spraying me brown. (I love my job.) I feel so dark! It was amazing, and such a cute place. And cheap. And now I swear I can see my muscles better. Which was really the point. Win. win. win. I took a picture in my bikini. I'm not putting it up.
We then made a quick stop at Scottsdale Fashion Square to pick up JVizz's knife set. It should have been uneventful. But...
Two guys walked by us at Nordstrom.
Bridget yelled at them to tell them they smelled good.
She turned back around and then biffed it on the elevator.
This is her bloody toe.

More blood

Then it was time to meet up with Polly Pocket! Polly is Kristine. She got married and moved to Japan. She just moved back. We hadn't seen her in forever. We met her at the coolest little ice cream place in Scottsdale called Sweet Republic. They have some of the best unique ice cream anywhere. Last time I went I had blueberry. This time I had Jameson Whiskey ice cream. I asked if they serve it to children. They said yes because it's very dilute. That seemed like a good enough reason to try it to me. What it also was was very delicious. yum yum. It was so fun just to sit and talk with the girls. And then we went home.  And ate  Blue Bell and chocolate. And talked to John a little bit (Because he was getting married in TWELVE hours)- and watched a few episodes of Season 4 of Friends. It was a lovely lovely day.

Bridget's Here! ( & The Herb Box)

So John Vizzard got married last weekend. I know, right? Kind of a big deal. Bridget flew in from Utah for the occasion. And, of course, to hang out with me.
I picked her up Thursday morning and she drove me to work. She spent the day bonding with my flats screen and "On Demand" while I spent the day bonding with, well, you know. She also stopped by the temple to get in a few pictures of John & Marisel for their bridals. Which turned out awesome.
As soon as I got off, we headed to Scottsdale for dinners you just don't get in Utah.
First off, "The Herb Box," which Vanie had told me about but I had never been too. And oh my gosh it was amazing.
We asked for healthy and delicious because, well, even though I haven't been perfect on this Jamie Eason training thing, I've been pretty awesome at it the last few weeks, and I was trying to not to undo all my hard work.
My salad was the Apple Frisee salad without the dried cranberries. Amazing.
Dinner was the best roast chicken and maple salmon I may have ever had. (Bridget and I shared both). It was just such a beautiful place. I really wish my home could look like it some day. And the bathroom had a flat marble sink! So cool.
We did have s'more creme brulee for dessert which sounds amazing, but honestly, this place does food way better than dessert. We didn't even finish it. Which my body probably appreciated. :-)

And then we went and got Bridget some Blue Bell. (and yes, I had a little!) Of course.
And then Bridget fell asleep on my couch. 'cause she had gotten like 2 hours of sleep.
Kinda felt like old times.

"You Should Have Blogged That..."

Bridget came to visit this weekend, and there was no shortage of stories told. At the conclusion of most of these, Bridget would say, "You should have blogged that."
After a few of these comments, I realized I've been up to a lot more than I realized, and that it used to not take a vacation to get me to blog. So I apologize, and here we go.
Starting with some big stuff.
